This is so crazy to me that I’m even writing this, because I’ve been dreaming about having a blog/collaborative website for years. So here we are, it’s up and running, you’re reading along, and I thank you so much for being here!
For those that are meeting me for the first time – Hi! I’m Maddy Newton George, a pop singer/songwriter, content creator, and social media strategist based in Nashville, TN. I was born in Boca Raton, Florida but moved to Nashville with my parents when I was 12. We have loved it ever since, and it was the perfect place for me to break into the music industry. I split my time between Nashville and LA for a little while, but Nashville has always been my home.
I got married to Jordan George, June 13th 2020 (yes, we did that)! I still release my music under Maddy Newton though, which low-key gives me Hannah Montana/ Miley Stewart vibes.
I”ve always wanted to create a space that can be a resource for other women like me that love beauty, entrepreneurship, travel, and the little luxuries of life. I also have so many talented and knowledgeable friends that I want to share with you, too! This site is a hub for the blog, directs you to my music site, and provides more info about my social media services. Shoot me a message if you are a brand or business in need of some Social Media help 🙂
A quick little backstory…
I have been singing since I was 3, playing piano since I was 5, guitar since I was 8 (to impress a boy in class), and properly songwriting since I was 13. I started creating makeup videos on YouTube when I was 14, and that’s what started my love for being in front of the camera and creating content. (I’ll probably regret this, but click HERE to go back 11 years and creep some of my first videos that I’ve, for some crazy reason, still left public.)
I gained a few thousand subscribers which was SO COOL, so I decided I wanted to share my music on my channel, too! I started with covers to warm people up and then started sharing my original music.
My parents knew how passionate and serious I was about my music career, so they let me finish Junior and Senior year of high school online, in order to write with some of the best songwriters in Nashville! I look back and still can’t believe some of the rooms I got to be in.
I didn’t go to college, but I jumped right into Social Media Marketing experience alongside building music! I already had a love of learning social media: building an audience, cultivating it, and serving it as best as possible. In 2015 my music business coach saved me from my job at Nordstrom (praise) and had me work for him on his social media. That led me to do Social Media Management for other artists and record labels, and eventually I took on my own clients. I love growing my own brand and helping others do the same. I still do Social Media and Content Consulting today!
Fast forward through some artist development whiplash with my music…am I a Country Artist? Pop? Solo? Trio? Pop again? I’ve landed somewhere in the Pop Singer/Songwriter genre now, and have accepted that it’s okay to evolve while finding your voice! I’m collaborating with some fun people and can’t wait to share what we’ve been working on.
I’ve been super blessed to cross off some bucket list dreams like opening for JoJo (yes, the “Too Little, Too Late” Queen), having a few of my songs on Radio Disney (!!!), and reaching millions of views on my YouTube channel. I even had another one of those “Hannah Montana” moments when I was at the Radio Disney studio and got to sit on the piano that Miley played in her house on the show!
So what now?
As I’m writing this in 2022, there is soooo much that has happened since the madness of 2020. Watch this video where I go a little more in depth into what happened there.
The launch of this blog is a huge step in the direction I’m heading in to build up this community even more. I am excited to release new music, AND be a resource for ambitious millennial women as we navigate life and business together. I love all things beauty, lifestyle, entrepreneurship, and travel – in style. I work completely remote, so I love finding the dreamiest hotels and cafes across the world to work from. I hope this can be a resource for the other digital nomads out there to find the best spots and gain tips for this lifestyle, too!
I can’t wait to see where this road leads. Cheers to the future!
