*2023 UPDATE*
It’s not too hard to come up with the 30 Must-Do Fall Activities in Nashville because there is SO much to do here. Talk to any local Nashvillian and they’ll tell you that fall is hands-down the best season we get. Unless you’re one of those Summer Forever people, in which case, you dread the crisp autumn air because it’s a sign you’re one step closer to a seasonal-depression-inducing winter. For most, like me, it’s one step closer to the joy of Christmastime.
We get the beautiful changing leaves from about mid-September through the end of October, and every year it never seems long enough.
With that being said, fall is the best time of year to visit Nashville! Whether you’re planning a girls trip, bachelorette party, romantic getaway, or relaxing fall break, there is so much to do in this fall season!
Nashville provides unique experiences for each season, so I wanted to break down some of the best autumn activities! There’s a little bit of everything on this list, so you’re bound to have a good time whether you’re a native or just here for the weekend!
Let’s dive in!
30+ Must-Do Fall Activities in Nashville
- Visit Cheekwood Botanical Garden. I have this as number one on the list because it’s about the prettiest fall activity you can do here in town. There are several photo spots for the perfect fall pic, but also so much beauty to soak up.
- Take a stroll through Centennial Park around the Parthenon.
- Visit one of Nashville’s top rated Haunted Houses (if you dare).
- Visit a Pumpkin Patch. There is one on almost every corner of the suburbs it feels like, but the one on 12th South is the most fun because you can walk around the whole neighborhood.
- Bring a picnic basket to Arrington Vineyards and enjoy the rolling hills view with a flight of some local wine. If you don’t have food with you, there are also snacks available and sometimes Food Trucks!
- Go to Pumpkinfest in Franklin, TN. This is one of my favorite things to do each year because it takes place in our quaint little downtown, and brings together local artists and small businesses.
- Visit Gentry’s Farm for a Corn Maze, Nature Trails, and Animals.
- Go to an outdoor movie theater like NightLight Social Cinema with food trucks, craft beer and wine.
- Grab a Fall Time Latte from Honest Coffee Roasters and walk through the unique shops and boutiques in the Factory at Franklin.
- Bring your kids to Boo at the Zoo and/or come back later for Booze at the Zoo for the adults.
- Go to the Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival.
- Walk through Nashville Oktoberfest Germantown. It’s free, and something fun to do outside!
- Drive just outside of Nashville for a Stardust Drive-In Movie experience.
- Walk across the Pedestrian Bridge to feel the cool breeze and take in the full city views.
- Walk around the Tennessee Fall Craft Fair.
- Check out the Fairlane Hotel rooftop bar for its seasonal Pop-Up theme. For the 2023 fall season it’s Wicked themed😍 Who hasn’t wanted to visit The Emerald City?
- Go to Cheekwood again, but this time for the El Dia de los Muertos celebration!
- Cozy up at Rudy’s Jazz Room for some cocktails and killer jazz music.
- Walk or Hike Percy Warner Park. Remember those photos of Taylor Swift hiking in Nashville a few years ago? This is that park, so keep your eyes peeled for the queen herself.
- Get a fall latte from Frothy Monkey and walk around 12th South (and check out the pumpkin patch mentioned earlier in the list!)
- Tuesday’s from 4-7pm there is a local farmers market on 12th South, walking distance from the pumpkin patch! (see how it all connects?)
- If you have a rental car, drive down Natchez Trace Parkway for some epic fall foliage.
- Have a cozy dinner or afternoon tea at The Hermitage Hotel.
- Go to a Tennessee Titans Football game at Nissan Stadium.
- Visit Urban Cowboy in East Nashville for fire pit hangs and fall cocktails. It’s the perfect cozy outdoor vibe.
- Stop at Gray’s On Main for a cozy meal and cocktail.
- Rent a bike or scooter through Downtown Nashville. It’s a great way to see the city and soak in the cool temperatures.
- Take a day trip out of the city to go to an Apple Orchard.
- See a concert at Ascend Amphitheater Downtown Nashville right next to the Cumberland River
- Stop by the Nashville Cultural Festival at Centennial park to celebrate the diversity of cultures that comprise the City of Nashville.
- Go Apple Picking at Morning Glory Orchard.
